Abang Jo To Continue Boost Sarawak Economic Development

BINTULU: Today marks the second anniversary for Datuk Patinggi Dr Abang Johari Tun Openg of his appointment as the Chief Minister of Sarawak, and his aspirations is to continue to boost its economic development in the state. 
Johari said the State is able to have economic success by using its vast resources. 
“We must also make use of our local talents that we have to transform Sarawak as an economy power house in Malaysia,” he told reporters after attending the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Flag Rally at the Bintulu Civic Centre, yesterday. 
He stressed however in order to achieve all that is only when there is unity among the people. 
“My aspirations is also to continue the unfinished job which has been laid down by the late Tan Sri Pehin Sri Adenan Satem,” he said. 
He added the State Government will continue in its fight for Sarawak eroded rights. 
Meanwhile, when asked by reporters how is GPS going to ensure the society acceptance towards the coalition party, Johari said well he would leave it in the hands of the people. 
“We have our own struggle, and our own platform. So, the final decision is up to the people,” he said. 
On another question raised by reporters was what strategy is GPS going to undertake despite Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak claims in wanting to the lead the State, Johari said he would let PH leaders to speculate. 
Johari, or commonly known as ‘Abang Jo’ was announced as the sixth Sarawak Chief Minister on 13 Jan 2017, replacing the late Tan Sri Pehin Sri Adenan Satem. 
In his duty, Johari is the first to implement polices on Sarawak digital economy and sales tax on petroleum products. 
Also, he had set up Petros, Dbos, and has allocated RM11.9 billion for the this year’s State budget, which makes it the biggest budget in the history of Sarawak.
